- You need job costing at 2–5 users: Housecall Pro. Essentials ($149/mo billed annually, 5 users) lists job costing, while Jobber requires Grow ($229).
- You price from a flat-rate book: Housecall Pro. It lists flat-rate pricing on Essentials ($149/mo). No Jobber plan card mentions flat-rate pricing.
- You sell maintenance memberships: Housecall Pro. MAX ($299/mo for 8 users) is the lowest published price we found for a plan that lists recurring service plans.
- 3+ users, customers mostly pay in person: Housecall Pro. Its 2.59% card-present rate came out cheaper all-in at 3 and 10 users.
- Past 15 users, or you need payroll and advanced reporting: ServiceTitan (pricing not publicly listed). Payroll is listed from Essentials, and advanced reporting on The Works.
- You run multiple locations or a franchise: Workiz (quote-only). It lists multi-location management on Pro and franchise management on Ultimate. Jobber's plan cards list neither.
- Ease of use, field app, support: No pick. Usability: not yet tested.

Reasons to stay on Jobber: you work alone (Core $29 is the lowest list price we found), most customers pay online with an average ticket above about $333, or many of your customers pay with Amex or commercial cards (Jobber's published rate card lists no surcharge; provisional).

Takeaway: Jobber's add-ons (Pipeline $49, AI Receptionist $29, Marketing Suite $99) are cheap ways to add features without changing tiers. Its weak spots are features that appear neither on Jobber's plan cards nor in its features table: a price book, flat-rate pricing and memberships. Also, job costing is held back until Grow.
10-user cost: Jobber vs Housecall Pro
Assumptions (ours): $300 average ticket, $120,000/mo card volume, annual billing. Housecall Pro is MAX with 2 extra users ($369). All in-person payments go through Tap to Pay, with Housecall Pro's $5 per device included.

At 10 users, the software price favors Jobber by $70–$140/mo, but card fees can reverse that. Which is cheaper depends on how your customers pay. Model: analysis/true_cost_jobber_vs_hcp.py.

Our analysis
- Most Jobber upgrades cost less than switching. For features Jobber sells as add-ons or lists on Grow, staying is usually cheaper than migrating.
- Job costing is the exception. At 5 users, Grow costs $80/mo more than Connect, while Housecall Pro lists job costing on every plan.
- For HVAC and plumbing, the gap is features, not price. Flat-rate books and memberships don't appear on Jobber's plan cards. If you rely on them, the published alternative is Housecall Pro, at $149 and $299 respectively.
